Voting News - 14 December 2004
In Ohio we are beginning to see some of the reports of happenings
on election night and following days including an instance of an attempt to do
harm to someone who has testified. All of this as the state begins to recount.
In New Mexico, the governor decided that he would not support any recount and
the court said they would do nothing yet. In Washington the high court found
that not all ballots have to be recounted in the hand recount. There were 561
ballots discovered that had been previously uncounted and will be counted this
time. Amidst the recounts and problems some states are beginning to talk about
election reforms and a voter verified paper ballot.
